When looking at a table of ordered pairs, how do you know what the y intercept is?

Julie S.

The place where the line intercepts the y-axis would be whenever x = 0. When the value of x is 0 you are on the y-axis! (Also, when the value of y is 0 you are on the x-axis.) So as an example, if you have a point (0,2) in your ordered pair set, then the y-intercept is 2. If you don't have any points (ordered pairs) with x=0, then you might have to plot the line and figure it out...
