At the Bronx Zoo there are 80 monkeys in the new monkey exhibit. Each monkey gets 3/7 lbs of water and 1/3 lb of bananas every day. How much water and banana does the zoo need for the month of September?

30 days has September, April, June and November. All the rest have 31, except February which has 28 days except in leap years when it has 29

30 x80 = 2400= days times monkeys, units? monkey days= water pounds or banana pounds for a month

2400 x 3/7 = 7200/7 = pounds of water = 10,285 5/7

2400 x 1/3 = 800 pounds of bananas

unless they have a pond and banana trees, then the monkeys can get their own bananas & drinks. Similar to a line in the movie "Longest Yard" where Crew's girlfriend tells him, "put it on and get downstairs in 5 minutes or you can buy your own bananas"
