Frank bought three candies, two chocolate bars, eight wafers and a bottle of cola. The price of each candy, chocolate bar, wafer and bottle of cola was $3, $5, $8 and $20 respectively. The quoted prices are tax-exclusive and HST is payable at a rate of 13%.

Calculate the total amount paid by Frank. (Round off to the nearest 2 digits and enter without $ sign).

You have to multiply price times the number of items for each item bought:

eg. 3 candies times $3 = $9

after doing for all the items add the amount.

suppose you get the total amount as $103, you have to now apply HST which is 13% on this total amount.

103*13/100 - this is 13.39

add this to the total amount 103

so the total Frank would pay is 116.39
