The way you typed it in, I think maybe you meant that the equation was y = 1/3 x + 10.
A line parallel has the same slope which is 1/3. Using the point-slope form you know that the equation is
y - y1 = 1/3( x - x1) the given point is (x1, y1). You have given x1 to be 12, but you did not type in the y1.
This will give you y -y1 = 1/3(x - 12)
y - y1 = 1/3 x - 4 or
y = 1/3 x - 12 + y1 If you know y1, substitute it in and simplify .
