I believe in plain English it's asking was the claim that was taken appropriate for the research question.

Neither the claim would be the hypothesis that comes before the study is done. For example if I said tall people are happier then did a study on if tall people like roller coasters. The claim being made is not benefitted by the study I've done.12/24/20
