Your memory for how to cook spaghetti and meatballs is an example of a procedural memory in the non-declarative memory of long term memory. Procedural memory is the memory for motor skills and is part of the non-declarative memory of long term memory. Non-declarative memory is the memory that is displayed by a lack in a change in behaviors. After the first several times of learning how to cook spaghetti and meatballs, you become familiar enough at making the dish that it becomes instinctual and you rely more on your muscle memory.
Declarative memory in general is the memory that requires conscious recollection of prior events. Maybe, the first few times making spaghetti and meatballs you would need to consciously remember how to make the dish. However, after a while of making spaghetti and meatballs, the action of making the dish would become second nature to you and you would not need to think about making the dish as much.
Declarative semantic memory is the memory for general knowledge. Examples of declarative semantic memory would be knowing the meaning of letters/characters in one's own native written language, knowing the difference between a cat and dog, and knowing that fish swim in water instead of living on land. So, making spaghetti and meatballs would not fit as well within this type of memory system.
Declarative episodic memory is the memory or recollection for past events and situations. This memory system usually involves remembering specific events like the first time swimming in the ocean and feelings surrounding certain types of event like how you feel when swimming in the ocean.
Sensory memory is the very brief memory that allows people to retain impressions of sensory information and lasts only for several seconds before forgetting that information or going into one's working memory. Making spaghetti and meatballs would not fit into sensory memory since the action of making the meal requires a longer memory system.
