Pipe A can empty a pool in 5 hours. On the other hand, Pipe B can empty a pool in 6 hours. How many hours will it take both pipes to empty the pool?

6x + 5x = 30

11x = 30

x = 30/11 = 2.727272...hours = slightly less than 2 3/4 hours = the average of 5&6= 5.5 divided by 2
