This requires conversion of Calories to Kilojoules
You need to remember that 1 Calorie = 1 Kilocalorie and that 1 Kilocalorie = 4.184 Kilojoules
So if the takeaway meal has a TOTAL Calorie amount of 255 + 521 = 776 Calories
Then convert that to Kilojoules...
776 Cal x (4.184 kJ/ 1 kC) = 3,246.80 kJ
To find the percentage of the energy provided by the takeaway meal relative to the daily energy intake requirement, you use the ratio of the takeaway over the daily recommended energy intake (8400 kJ) and multiply 100.
Therefore... (3246.80 / 8400) x 100 = 38.65% OR round up to the nearest whole number of 39%
