The light source represents a luminous flower (perhaps); the arrows indicate the movement of light, the eye represents the eye of an observer, perhaps one of your classmates. The red ball represents a typical red ball, which reflects red light and absorbs other colors of the incident light. Not shown: what goes on physiologically when the light enters the eye. How do you see things, anyway?
