If the y intercept is 2 our line will have an equation of the form y=Ax+2. Since we need the x intercept to be 6 we have that 0=6A+2 or A=-1/3. Thus, the equation is y=-(1/3)x+2.

(6,0) and (0,2) are the two points, which have a slope of 2/-6 = - 1/3
y-h = (-1/3)(x-k) plug in either point
y-2 = (-1/3)(x)
multiply by 3
3y-6 = -x
x+3y = 6
or in standard form
y=(-1/3)x + 2 where 2 is the y intercept and -1/3 is the slope
y=mx + b with m=slope, b= y intercept

x+3y=6 is in STANDARD FORM (Ax+By=C); y=(1/3)x +2 is slope-intercept form !!11/12/20
