Not entirely it's never apples to apples. There are so many factors to consider. Did the two teams play the SAME 10 teams? If so then we have a closer case. If we are just going off of statistics then goal differential matters as well.
If the 5 games team A won were all by 3 or more goals, and the 5 games they lost were only by 1 goal vs.
Team B won 5 games by 1 goal and lost their 5 games by 3 or more goals. Team A statistically has a much higher goal differential than team B even though they are even on points.
Did both teams play with full lineups or were injuries a part of it? Where the matches evenly based on home and away? If team A played team C (let's say in first place) at home vs. team B playing team C away, team A has an advantage.
So there are a LOT of variable to consider when making this conclusion.
