Given (x+13)/2 = 5x/3
=> 3(x + 13) = 2(5x) let's get rid of fractions (multiply by 6)
=> 3x + 39 = 10x
=> 7x = 39
=> x = 5 4/7 (or 39/7 )
double check by substituting in original equation to give
(39/7 + 13)/2 = 5(39/7 ) /3
=> 3 (39/7 + 91/7) = 10 (39/7 )
=> 117/7 + 273/7 = 390/7
=> 390/7 = 390/7
