None of them. Congressional service was never intended to be a full-time career. It was thought to be a civic responsibility, typically.undertaken by citizens otherwise fully engaged in the private sector as they performed their Congressional role in addition. Politicians, like governments, produce nothing. They do not grow more wise with age in office; they become more entitled. The last group of Americans whose job permanence we should be allowing, let alone paying for, are politicians (with the exception of the Supreme Court). Implement term limits and most of our problems evaporate.
