Need help with this question
A line as a slope of 4/7 and a passes through the point (-14, 3). Write an equation for the line.
====
Use the point slope version of a line given as......y-y1 = m (x - x1)....where m is the slope and (x1,y1) is a point on the line...so we have....
y-3 = 4/7 (x - (-14)) or simplified.....y-3 = 4/7 (x+14)...check...with a sample values of (x,y)
x = 0 .......we have.....y-3 = 4/7 (0+14) =56/7 = .....y-3 = 56/7+21/7.....y= 77/7=11 (0,11) is a point on the line.
