I am a junior at Winona State University.
Personally, I have learned the best way to balance goals for work and for life is to make time for a personal life, but don't leave your work in the dust. Make sure you put work and academics first, but don't forget to take time for yourself. Remind yourself it is okay to take breaks and to have fun! You can also try to make work and academics more exciting by going to coffee shops and doing work alongside some friends.
Positive reinforcement is always a greatly to encourage yourself. For example, reward yourself with a coffee or your favorite treat whenever you accomplish a big goal (i.e., getting a good grade on an exam, studying really hard and doing your best on a tough topic, finishing a large project, etc.). You could also slowly save up for something you really want, and if you do really well on an exam, you could use the money you saved up to buy that special something for yourself!
