I am currently a senior in college with a major in Mathematics.
The formula for the period of a sinusoidal function/graph is [2(pi)]/B if given a function f(x)=Acos(Bx+C)+D
So using the function you're given h(x) = cos(1/2x + 4) + 2, you can see B in this case is going to be 1/2. If you plug (1/2) into the above formula you get that the period is [2(pi)]/(1/2). Keep in mind that dividing by (1/2) is the same as multiplying by 2. So, the period can be simplified to [2(pi)]*2= 4pi
Now for frequency, the frequency is 1/Period, therefore frequency of h(x) is 1/(4pi)
