Percentage is always written as some number x/100....so 10% would be 10/100...20% would be 20/100...etc...

you are looking for some number x/100 in a equivalent to 5003/5721....or written as an equation....

x/100 = 5003/5721.......multiply both sides by 100 we have.....

x = (5003/5721) * 100 = 87.449....so the nearest WHOLE NUMBER PERCENT.....is 87%? Right?

......Always Check your work....... 87% of 5721....approximately 4977....number is not precise due to ROUNDING error....if you multiply precisely 84.449..you get closer to the actual 5003 number.
