Hi Emma,
So to answer this question you need to remember two key facts, f(x-c) moves the function right c units when c is positive and f(x)+k moves the function up or down k units when k is positive or negative. Since you want to move two units right and 8 units down, then you want combine the two rules mentioned previously with c=2 and k=-8. This gives you f(x-2)-8, now using f(x)=x^2 you will replace x with (x-2) and subtract 8 from the result (f(x-2)-8=(x-2)^2-8)
