Hi Daisy! The five components of classical conditioning are the neutral stimulus, the conditioned stimulus, the unconditioned stimulus, the conditioned response, and the unconditioned response. The conditioned stimulus is the stimulus that originally has no response but develops a response after conditioning, in this case the smell of alcohol. The unconditioned stimulus causes a response without any conditioning needed, in this case it is alcohol. The conditioned response is the response established by conditioning, in this case feeling nauseous. The unconditioned response is the naturally occurring response to the unconditioned stimulus, in this case feeling sick. The neutral stimulus has no response. It is important to note that the unconditioned and conditioned response is often the same but doe not have to be. I hope this is helpful and feel free to ask a follow up!
