Quadratic or Linear?

I have two equations that I’m not sure if it’s quadratic or linear.

4x^2 + 2y = 4x^2 + x + y

y = x(x - 3) - 2x(4 - x)

Please help as much as possible

The first equation that you write is the same as 2y=x+y (because the terms x^2 cancel from both sides) or equivalently y=x which is a linear equation.

The second equation that you write is the same as y=x^2-3x-8x+2x^2=3x^2-11x which is a quadratic equation.
