Should all activities of the government be open to media coverage?

I would say that most of the time, yes. There may be some instances where secrecy may be beneficial, (a war strategy perhaps) but the vast majority of the time, transparency is preferable. We can see throughout history how often the government has used secrecy to cover for some nefarious activity.
