Many people in the psychology field believe that therapists should be given the ability to prescribe medications. Therapists typically see a person on a more consistent basis for a longer period of time when compared to some psychiatrists. However, this is not an easy idea to enforce. How should it be enforced? Should therapists be required to get medical degrees? You can also consider whether or not a general practitioner should be allowed to give out these medications or if people should be required to go to a psychiatrist.
As for the drugs, you can consider how is the best way to manage and control the spread and use of medications. For example, how can you enforce that controlled medications can only be used for a certain amount of time? Should there be any additional tests done to assess where a person is in their treatment? Should routine blood tests be performed for medications that can be detected in a person's blood stream?
