This seems to be the same question as an earlier one, except both trains leave at the same time....

1. draw a quick sketch, you will see one leg going down (south) and one right (east)
2. the south leg will be 120 (3 hours(40mph)) and the east leg will be 90 (3 hours(30mph))
3. Use Pythagorean theorem to solve for the hypotenuse leg (c² = a² + b² )
4. c² = 14,400+ 8100 = 22,500
5. c = 150 mph (at the 3 hour mark)
