f(x) - f(3) = 3x^2-2x+1 - [ 3*3^2 - 2*3+1]
= 3x^2-2x+1 - [3*9-2*3+1]
= 3x^2-2x+1 - [27-6+1]
= 3x^2-2x+1 - [21+1]
= 3x^2 -2x +1 - 22
= 3x^2 -2x - 21
= (3x + 7)(x - 3)
the quotient is 3x+7
f(x)-f(3) = 6/x - 6/3 = 6/x - 2
= 6/x - (2x)/x
= (6-2x)/x
= 2(3-x)/x
= -2(x-3)/x
the quotient is -2/x
