He is able to use this information to apply to himself now helping decide what would be appropriate attire for the date, where to go, how to act, etc., to have a better chance of the date being successful. Randal is an idealist who imagines what a relationship should be like, but he has not had one in his life. Knowing the theory of how to woo a lady does not guarantee success on your first date, since courtship is referred to as the best of a relationship, both men and women express experiences of pleasure, which have to do with the expectation that it is generated in the one who is conquering, with the challenge involved in getting that other person to fix their attention on him.

But Randal ignores that courtship is not the only way to start a relationship, there are friendships that transcend love ties, without pretending at the beginning to have something with this person, friendship, sharing, knowing the other as someone trustworthy, compatible, allows the emergence of a feeling, an attraction that becomes a dating relationship.
