Thank you so much. You mentioned using the Pythagorean theorem to find -5 but since using that would give you two possible answers, -5 and 5 in this case, in a different situation, how would I know which one to use?

In this case you would use -5 because of the quadrant in which the terminal side of the angle is located. In the 4th quadrant y coordinates are negative (below the x axis). If you were finding a missing x coordinate and the terminal side was in either the 2nd or 3rd quadrant the missing "x" would be negative.
