Step 1: Write out the quadratic expression with a leading coefficient of 1 and whose roots are -3 and -4
(x+3)*(x+4) = 0
x2+7x+12 = 0
Step 2: Take one of the two root expression (let's use x+3) and multiply it by 4 to make the leading coefficient 4 while maintaining the root of -3. Then write out the quadratic expression.
(4x+12)*(x+4)
4x2+28x+48
Note that this is just the first equation multiplied by 4. This still maintains the roots.
