How do I become a tutor?

I am interested in using my knowledge as a tutor for local students. I am a degreed engineer, and I am now retired. I have tutored friends in the past, and now I am interested in doing the same for others while earning some extra money.

This is not the kind of forum you are thinking. It is a forum for students to ask tutors questions they need help with from their studies.

Take a look at the wyzant home page. At the top, there is a menu "Start Tutoring" that will direct you.

Hi! I'm an engineering student who recently got way too much free time during summer due to the pandemic. I filled out an online application which you can find at this link: https://www.wyzant.com/tutorsignupstart

Once you click the link, you fill out an application and take tests that certify you to teach for a certain subject. Just something I wish I'd known: There's a little bit of writing involved in the application, but since you have career experience it shouldn't be too difficult.
