Slope of the tangent line to the graph y = (x+1) / x at point (a,b) is
m1 = [x - (x+1)] / (x2) at (a,b)
m1 = -1/a2
Slope of the given line is m2 = -1/9
m1 = m2
⇒ a2 = 9
⇒ a = ± 3
(a,b) is also a point on the graph y = (x+1) / x itself. Therefore, b = (a+1) / a
For a = 3, we get b = 4/3
For a = -3, we get b = 2/3
Therefore, there are 2 such points: (3, 4/3) and (-3, 2/3)
