Hi Brenda,
Anthropology of Globalization is actually my major here at the University of Washington. Literally, "anthrop-" + "-ology" means the "study of humans/human-like animals". Anthropology easily covers the 5 W's and then some - where did we come from, how do we get along together, when do we create groups/communities, et cetera.
Meanwhile, globalization discusses how people work and interact in, and expand to, a global scale. The answers to these questions are heavily rooted in anthropology. Hypotheses and theories can be achieved through ethnographic studies - the cornerstone of anthropological research.
As an example, I am currently part of a research project where we are using thousands of observations of children in a remote, 1950s village in order to discuss the differences between child rearing before and after "Westernization". This is a prime example of anthropological research because we are specifically coming to conclusions through observations of human behavior. Furthermore, we are studying the effects of globalization on the lifestyles of these people. This is just one of innumerable ways in which anthropology and globalization research can coincide.
