This depends on the type of guest that the parent brings. For example, if the parent brings an attorney, it would be best if the meeting is postponed so the school can bring their attorney as well. Otherwise, the parent/guest should be asked about their relationship with the student. If the guest is not one of the members that is legally allowed to enter the meeting, they can either be politely asked to wait until the meeting is over or the meeting can be postponed to a later date when that guest will not be present.
