Math skills are cumulative. For example, Algebra must be mastered before proceeding to 'higher level' Calculus. In addition to chunking up Math homework, based on school assignments, it is essential to (1) seek assistance from the teacher, classmates and other resources almost immediately, if you are getting stumped and cannot grasp the concepts easily and in a timely manner (2) practice, practice, practice! the concepts until you have mastered them. This will enable you to excel with speed and accuracy in word problems at school, as well as gain practical life skills (3) seek out study groups and/or private tutoring after school. Good luck!
