You can solve this problem in more than one way.
One way would be to determine how many miles the airplane can travel in 6 minutes and then multiply by 10 to determine how far it can travel in 1 hour (recall that 60 minutes is equal to 1 hour).
300 miles ÷ 6 = 50 miles
36 minutes ÷ 6 6 minutes
Since there are 60 minutes in 1 hour, we can multiply the distance by 10 for 1 hour:
50 * 10 = 500 miles in 1 hour
The distance for 2 hours will then be twice that for 1 hour:
500 miles * 2 = 1000 miles in 2 hours
