Hi Eli.
If each chicken wing has 100 calories then
If the child eats 1 wings.... He gets 100 ·1, or 100 calories
If the child eats 2 wings.... He gets 100 ·2, or 200 calories
If the child eats 3 wings.... He gets 100 ·3, or 300 calories
...
If the child eats c wings.... He gets 100c calories
Using that same logic tell me how many calories the child gets when he or she eats f fries?
Next, notice that the child's total calories is the calories they got from wings and the calories they got from fries. So add 100c to your answer to the bold question.
Finally, since we want the fries to be "at most" 500, we would set write
(that sum) ≤ 500.
