You could also use process of elimination: Choice B may be factually correct, but it doesn't answer the question of WHY. Choice C is silly- proximity does not mean the systems interact, especially considering the circulatory system is closed. Choice D, like Choice B, sounds reasonable but doesn't really answer the WHY (and besides, the relationship between exercise and breathing is more Pulmonary than Cardiovascular).
