Ratio Problem

Question

 A popular paint supplier mixes three colors of paint, cranberry, tangerine and pumpkin, in the ratio of 3:5:7. Cranberry-colored paint cost $8 dollars per quart, tangerine-colored paint cost $12 per quart, and pumpkin-colored paint cost $15 per quart. Calculate the cost per quart of the paint mixture referred to as "crantankin."

Cranberry costs 3($8), or $24.

Tangerine costs 5($12), or $60.

Pumpkin costs 7($15), or $105.

 

The total is 15 gallons for $189, or $12.60 per gallon.
