True. Intelligent design is not a scientific paradigm. The belief in a creator that has designed humanity is based off of faith. When we investigate some creationist claims, they tend not to have scientific backing. For instance the claim that the earth is 10,000 years old due to a history of prophets and how old they were do not correspond with the fact that we observe distances of up to 13 or more billion light-years. Thus the the scientific approach to human existence indicates that we evolved from a common ancestor of great apes. When you empirically investigate this, by looking at skulls, fossil evidence, ect. it becomes clear that humanity came about as a result of a gradual process of evolution over time, and not created in a miraculous instant.
