The Pythagorean Theorem helps us to determine the length of a triangle side.
The formula is a2 + b2 = c2, so using the information from your problem, a =3 and b= 4.
32 + 42 = c2
9 + 16 = c2
25 = c2
In order to find the value of c, we need to do the inverse (or the opposite). The inverse of squared is to find the square root.
25 =c2
√25=c
5=c
