Well, it was a lot more than just 2 states. In the 1820`s settlers from Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas and Missouri formed the majority of the people who moved to Texas. Of these, the lead two were Missouri and Tennessee, with many of the Missourians actually having come from Tennessee originally as well.
