Finding and verifying an inverse

Question

Find the inverse of f(x) and then verify your result using (𝑓 ° 𝑓^−1)(𝑥) = 𝑥 and (𝑓^−1 ° 𝑓)(𝑥) = 𝑥.

F(x)=1/x-3

Answer 1

y=1/(x-3)

Interchange roles of x and y

y=3+(1/x) (I will leave the algebra for you to figure.

Use your graphing calculator to see that these 2 functions are symmetric about y=x.

Then do the f ° f^-1 calculation to prove you are correct.
