The statement that a day is as a thousand years is much more figurative language than literal. It is basically making the point that since God is the Creator of time—He is not constrained by it and can operate outside of it.

The questioner is referring to 2 Peter 3:8. However, he is taking the passage far too literally. 1000 years is just a stand in really big number in order to give the impression of what it would be like to exist outside of time.08/27/20
