My answers were 20 and 8. IT says one half it’s right. I don’t understand

A preschool charges $8 for a child to attend its morning session or $11 to attend the afternoon session. No child can attend both. Thirty children are enrolled in the preschool. If the daily receipts are $264, how many children attend each session?

m represents the number of students in the morning session

30 - m represents the number of students in the afternoon session

8m + 11(30 - m) = 264

8m + 330 - 11m = 264

-3m + 330 = 264

-3m = -66

m = 22, for $176

s = 8 for $88

X + Y=30

8X + 11Y=264

I'm assuming this is the system you used.

You solved so y=8. Plug 8 back in to x +y=30

to yield 22. x + 8=30, subtract 8 from both sides

x=22
