2nd US president was John Adams of Massachusetts
Unless you mean the 2nd president of the US Continental Congress. That was
Henry Middleton of South Carolina, who served for 4 days
Or, if you meant the 2nd president of the Continental Congress after 1776 when the US declared independence then it was
Henry Laurens, also of South Carolina. who served for 1 year and 38 days. He succeeded John Hancock far more well known.
Most people would say John Adams. Most have never heard of Middleton or Laurens.
Or maybe your question was asking who is 2nd in line to become president if the president is incapacitated, removed, impeached or dies. 1st in line is vice president. 2nd in line is Speaker of the House.
