A cup of beans cost 160dollar. How much would a similar tin, three times the height and diameter, full of beans cost?

3 times the diameter would mean 3 times the area on the bottom of the cup

A=pi x diameter. The larger cup would have an area 3 times as big for the bottom

Increasing the height by 3, also increases volume by 3.

Volume equals height times area of bottom = h x pi x d

3h x pi x 3d i= 9(h x pi x d) = 9 times the volume of the original cup.

9 times $160 = $1440 as the new cost, assuming no volume discount,
