1.Multiply out the terms together if possible.
0.096x+0.078-0.078x=0.0888
2.Combine like terms on both sides of the equations if possible.
0.018x+0.078=0.0888
3.Isolate the x-variable.
0.018x=0.0108
4.Solve for x.
x=0.6
Always good to check work by plugging in the x value back into the equation.
