Consider that the verb "cantar" has an -ar ending. In the present tense, we use:
Yo- canto
Tú- cantas
Él/ Ella/ Usted- canta
Nosotros- cantamos
Vosotras- cantáis
Ellos/ Ellas/ Ustedes- cantan
A mi madre le gusta cantar
Yo voy a cantar
Nosotros tenemos que cantar
A mi hermana le encanta cantar
Because these all have two verbs, the first verb gets conjugated and the second stays in its original form.
Also, keep in mind that "Tú y yo" is another way of saying "we", so "cantamos" would be the appropriate choice.
