Containing communism

Describe how the strategy of “containing” communism evolved from the Eisenhower through the Johnson administrations. Be sure to include how each president dealt with Vietnam.

Confronting Communism began under Truman with the policy of containment on the rim. In Greece, Berlin, Korea and other flash points, the US sought to deter or at least slow Communist expansion as the Marshall Plan rebuilt a stable economy/society in Western Europe.
