Why high level of prolactin will cause infertility?

High levels of prolactin will produce infertility because it may stop a woman from ovulating and therefore no release of eggs to be fertilized. High prolactin can also cause defects in progesterone levels following ovulation where a fertilized egg may not be able to be implanted into the uterine wall.
