Psychological stress can impact the body in many different ways. Many people have symptoms such as:
- elevated blood pressure
- rapid heart rate
- fatigue
- difficulty sleeping
- poor problem-solving
- changes in behavior, including social withdrawal, feelings of sadness, frustration, loss of emotional control, inability to rest, and self-medication
Managing your stress is important for your physiological and psychological health. Exercising regularly, having a well-balanced diet, and practicing relaxing exercises (such as breathing exercises) can be beneficial and help combat some of the symptoms of stress. If you are still unable to manage your stress levels, you should consider visiting a mental health professional or a doctor.
