Calculation on distance

Stranded in Sonoran Desert in the South-Southwest of United States, 70 miles from a mining camp that is the nearest habitation, we are 65 miles off course. How do I calculate how many days or hours it will take us to walk through the desert. Need formula.

Are you trying to get to the camp or back on course? That will tell you the distance, either 70 or 65 miles, that you need to walk. Let's call that d. Then you need to determine your walking rate; let's call that r. Then use the distance-rate formula, which is d = rt. Rearranging, we get t = d/r.
